No surprise here. A new report found that an increase of one Walk Score point can increase the price of home in the Boston area by $3,937 or 1.21 percent!
Basically, the more walkable the address is to amenities like parks and shops and transportation, the better its walk score and the higher its price.
Walkability was a particularly desirable quality in Boston real estate compared to the 13 other metro regions tracked in the study. On average, a one point walk score increase translated to a $3,250 price bump. That’s 700 dollars less than in Boston.
