Median home prices in areas around Greater Boston are quickly reaching $500,000. While this list includes some traditionally more expensive neighborhoods, many suburbs that aren’t usually considered as such are also soaring in price.

The study looked at homes across the country that were listed from April 2014 to April 2016 to determine what percentage has “green” features, such as energy star ratings, LEED certification and solar panels. To be considered “green” the listing had to have at least one of these features.

No one should be surprised that Boston came in 3rd in the nation for most expensive rents just behind San Francisco and New York City.

The owner of a triangle of buildings at John F. Kennedy and Brattle Street in Harvard square plans to add two glassy floors to create a continuous shopping mall for the area.

The Boston Transportation Departments will temporarily widen sidewalks at Franklin and Arch streets on Tuesday morning.

The number of homes sold in MA actually decreased this past July. On Tuesday, the Massachusetts Association of Realtors (MAR) reported 5,799 sales in July – a 14% drop from last year. This is the first time MAR has reported a drop in sales in over a year.

The buyer was John Grayken, a private equity billionaire originally from Cohasset.
