When thinking of the diamond industry, India is not the first place to come to mind. However, Surat, located 150 miles north of Mumbai, India, is where about 90% of all diamond in the world are cut.
The brand new Surat Diamond Bourse is now the worlds largest office building, holding over 65,000 professionals. Those in the building get to enjoy the intricate and beautiful architecture around them including "a succession of nine rectangular structures spilling out from — and interconnected via — a central “spine,” according to CNN.
The Bourse totals over 7.1 million square feet and is set to welcome people in November of 2023, after 4 long years of construction. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be officially opening the building, as a Gujarat native and former state's chief minister.
