Diamondbacks Pitcher Mark Melancon Offering Florida Home for $13M

MLB pitcher Mark Melancon’s 5,921 sq. ft. residence on the West Coast of Florida is back on the open market this winter. Melancon, a four-time MLB All-Star currently with the Arizona Diamondbacks, put the waterfront property in Holmes Beach up for sale for about $15 million in the spring of last year; a recent price snip leaves it asking $12.995 million.

The Caribbean Plantation-inspired house was completed in 2020 and features prominent balconies front and back and a roofline featuring pyramid and hipped sections. It’s a charming style tempered with modernity, but overall warm and traditional-feeling.

The interiors of the residence include six bedrooms and six baths. There’s more than one surprise waiting inside; details include backlit coffered and tray ceilings; in one of the bedrooms, a tray section finished with contrasting hardwood strips makes for a visually engaging and unusual flourish. Additional details include recessed built-in bookshelves, tile and hardwood floors, and broad use of color, pattern and texture.

Amenities in this house include a bevy in back; the list includes an indoor/outdoor living space with plank floor and fireplace, and an infinity-edge pool overlooking the bay, the centerpiece of a 1,618 sq. ft. exterior space that also features an outdoor kitchen. Interior amenities include a large open-concept family space that incorporates a kitchen, dayroom and living area and open to the outdoors through a wall of glass panels. Two docks complete the lifestyle profile of this turnkey vacation or primary home.
