Norah Jones, an American top jazz artist who has won nine Grammy awards and sold more than 50 million records worldwide, is looking to sell her brownstone townhouse in Brooklyn for $8 million. Her house is nestled in the neighborhood “Cobble Hill,” a place known for the hip cafes, relaxed bars, and casual restaurants.
Jones originally purchased the property in 2009 for $4.9 million and has lived there since then. The 25-foot-wide, four-story townhouse dates back to 1899, and it features a brick exterior. The house is a true gem with a lush garden and a bluestone patio that spans over 1,440-square-foot of backyard shaded by a heritage Wisteria canopy. The south-facing yard has a disappearing heated pool and a smartphone-controlled hot tub that can hold up to eight people. According to Jones, who is an avid swimmer, she added the pool in 2010.
The interior meticulously preserved original details while meeting state-of-the-art technology. The home is elegant in detail with a perfect balance of historicity and modernity; the interior design highlights reclaimed-wood finishes, beamed ceilings, a custom French teak wet bar, etc. The design is extremely warm and decorations are soothing, creating a cozy vibe for buyers who wish to pursue absolute serenity.
