Suffolk Downs is an underutilized historic horse track, hosting the very last of its races this spring before its final closing. HYM Investments recently purchased this property which spans through East Boston & Revere, and according to them it’s the perfect site for new development.
HYM Investments wants to transform this large parcel of land into a new and rejuvenated neighborhood with modern/affordable housing, retail, and open spaces. The plan will reconnect East Boston with Revere and create a mixed use walkable neighborhood, as well as green space and parks.
In addition, the area will open up many new job opportunities through both development, and the businesses that establish themselves there afterwards.
Although the project is still under review, the future is looking bright for the area and will provide some much-needed housing for Boston, especially just 10 minutes away from downtown.
