The Boston Real Estate Collaborative has proposed a new 54-unit residential apartment building at 44 N. Beacon St. in the Allston-Brighton neighborhood of Boston. This new construction would include 35 underground parking spaces, 38 apartments, and 16 condominiums, all within walking distance of the Boston Landing station and the MBTA Allston Street Green Line.
Seven of these units will be designated as affordable housing.
The opening of the Boston Landing station—which now connects Allston/Brighton to the commuter rail—is attracting development proposals to the neighborhood. For example, Stop & Shop proposed 1,010 residential units, and Michaels Organization proposed a 262-unit residential complex.
This area has a banner year, landing lease deals from Mass Innovative Labs and Bose Corp. The campus is home to the global headquarters of New Balance Athletics and the practice facility for the Boston Bruins.
The 44 N. Beacon St. parcel currently up for grabs spans 0.4 acres, and the one-story concrete commercial structure that currently stands on it is intended to be demolished. The new development is planned to include green, open spaces on the rooftops of the building.
