August Sees Rise in Home Prices

In August 2017, the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) reported an increase of home prices by 0.7 percent. In their recently released House Price Index (HPI), it was shown that homes with Fannie Mae- or Freddie Mac-backed mortgages were up 6.6 percent.

The Index states that home price changes month-over-month range from -0.1% In the New England Census to +1.4% in the Pacific. Year-over-year, home price changed ranged from +5.0% in the Mid Atlantic to +9.3% in the Pacific.
