How To Redo Your Kitchen for Under $1000

Kitchen renovations are expensive but luckily there are small, inexpensive tweaks you can make to emulate the same “new space” effect. Here are five changes you can make that will freshen up your kitchen without breaking the bank.

Change the hardware

New hardware isn’t expensive and can go a long way in transforming the look of your kitchen. Styles range from rustic to modern so you shouldn’t have too much trouble finding something you like. It’s also not as big of a commitment if you end up hating it.  When you go looking, bring a current drawer pull to make sure your new pieces match the size of your old hardware.

Replace the faucet

A new faucet can create the perfect focal point for your kitchen. Try to find one that has a finish and style that works with your kitchen’s aesthetic. If you’re switching out the hardware this will be easy.

Stainless steel laminate backsplash

There’s definitely a lot to be said for the sleek look of a stainless steel backsplash. It works with most kitchen aesthetics and is relatively inexpensive to install.

Install a ceiling fan

Ceiling fans help cool your kitchen while adding a luxurious feel (if you pick the right one). Look for an Energy Star-rated model, which will cut your cooling expenses by up to 40 percent.

Think outside the box

Get creative! Repaint or refinish your cabinets for a total makeover. Or update your lighting fixtures with trendier replacements.

You don’t need to break the bank to give your kitchen a new look –making small changes will do that on its own.
