Johnny Depp Lists Cannes Retreat for $26 Million

While it’s no surprise that Johnny Depp’s acting skills are enjoyed by the masses, it does come to interest that Depp has a niche for home design. Originally purchased in 2001, Depp has spent the last 15 years renovating this village of cottages, and has put the property on the market for $26 million. Unlike most celebrities who hire an interior designer, Depp has worked alone to design every aspect of the home to mimic that of a 19th century French village. Including a bar and restaurant, a chapel, a garage and worship, guest cottages, and a staff residence, this property is much more than the main house, which includes Mr. Depp’s personal furniture and belongings.  While the living space is nearly 11,000 square feet, the acreage is what sets this property apart. The estate sits on 37 acres of gardens and landscaping, and is tucked back into the hills of Cannes (not to mention a short, 17 mile distance from Saint Tropez). Whether one is a fan of Depp’s films or not, one can’t help but gaze at the French charm and elegance of this manor constructed of stone.
