The wait is finally over! The Chestnut Hill Wegmans will have its grand opening, this Sunday, April 27th at 7 am.
The store said it hired more than 300 workers for the 80,000 square-foot store, and has already had growing popularity with its liquor section that opened in March.
Wegmans Store Manager Rich Boscia and his team of 550 employes have been working for months toward one goal: to dazzle customers with incredible service, the right selection, and low prices, from day one and every day thereafter.
"We're beyond excited to introduce Wegmans to the Chestnut Hill community," said Boscia. "We have so much to show them, and can't wait to meet our new customers."
A grocery shopper's "dream", this Wegmans at Chestnut Hill has thousands of products in store for their customers. Entering the store, shoppers will be greeted with the aroma of freshly baked bread and deliciously prepared food. They will have a sense of visiting different shops in a global village market.
"Virtually every department and category of product sold in our largest stores will be available in Chestnut Hill," said Boscia. "It's a more efficient use of space, for sure, but we also were meticulous in selecting the must-have shoppers buy every week, along with the very best of what we have to offer, including prepared food."
In the produce section, there are hundreds of varieties of fresh produce, as well as a Fruit and Veggie Station, where produce is cleaned, cut, and sold ready to prepare or serve.
"Don't think of it as just a grocery store, but rather a destination," said Boscia. "It's a lot to take in all at once, but our people are trained to help customers each step of the way and we are proud to welcome Chestnut Hill to the Wegmans tradition."
The new store is located in Chestnut Hill Square at 200 Boylston Street.
It will be open Sunday through Saturday, 6 am- midnight.
The Liquor Store is open Sunday, noon-9 pm and Monday through Saturday 8am- 10pm
