Forget the snow and rain these past few months have brought to Boston. Baseball is back!
The Boston Red Sox began their defense for the World Series title at 3:00 pm Monday against the Baltimore Orioles at Oriole Park at Camden Yards in Baltimore.
Jon Lester will start for the Red Sox. Their home opener will be on Friday at 2:00 pm against the Milwaukee Brewers.
On Tuesday, the Red Sox will head to the White House to visit with President Barack Obama, who will honor them with the 2013 World Series win.
Opening Day is always a joyous time for baseball fans to get rejoice and get back into watching the game. Throughout the years, Opening Day moments have been shared and remembered, whether it's the Bob Feller's no-hitter in 1940, Hang Aaron's clubbing home run number 714 in 1974, or the immortal Tuffy Rhodes slugging three home runs in 1994.
What Opening Day memories will 2014 bring? I guess we'll just have to wait and see!
