Here's Where You Should Watch Boston's July Fourth Fireworks

Harvard Bridge (Mass Ave. Bridge)

If you can get a spot, this is one of the best place to watch the fireworks. The traffic is closed off so it’s all pedestrians and overlooks the barge where the fireworks are set off. The gorgeous views of the Boston and Cambridge skylines provide the perfect backdrop for the 4th of July festivities.

Kresge BBQ Pits

MIT’s Kresge BBQ Pits, located on Memorial Drive, are right on the Charles. You’ll get similar view to the Mass Ave Bridge but won’t have to deal with the hustle and bustle. Bring burgers and blankets and host a cookout!

Kayak on the Charles

For the more adventurous, try renting a kayak from the Charles River Canoe & Kayak. With two launch areas in Boston and Cambridge, a 4 mile paddle will put you in a prime position to watch the fireworks from the water.

Prospect Hill Park

The view on any regular day is spectacular, but on the fourth it’s especially so. The bird’s eye view from on top of the hill plus its proximity to the harbor make it an ideal firework-watching spot.

Castle Island

In South Boston right on the beach, this park features 360-degree views of Boston’s fireworks. Stroll on the beach or bring a picnic and enjoy the view.
